Pino’s Place 30th Anniversary Party

Opened by the Filipino pianist Pino Arcaya in 1984, PINO’s Place is the long established music venue in Okinawa. Pino moved to Okinawa to teach piano at the music conservatory inside the US military bases. As ANA Crowne Plaza Okinawa Harborview’s dedicated pianist, Pino has also performed his distinctive music at the hotel for 25 years. In 1980, he got married with a jazz vocalist Rumiko Nakamura and formed a jazz band with her. Pino would enthusiastically perform his music at hotels, lounges and on stages for the rest of his life. After he passed away, his wife and the house band showcase live jazz gigs every night, keeping Pino’s spirit and musical genius alive to this day.
