Okinawan entertainment and cuisine at a traditional Okinawa house

When taking craft or karate classes at Murasaki Mura, don’t forget to stop by Janatei, housed in a re-created traditional Okinawan dwelling. In the daytime, Janatei is an Okinawa soba café, but in the evening it is transformed into a restaurant featuring Okinawan cuisine, with courses starting at 3,675 yen and traditional dance and sanshin shows.

Modeled after the home of a Ryukyu dignitary, Janatei allows you to travel back in time and experience the good old days of Okinawa.

Churaumi Gozen (3,675 yen). Other courses are priced at 5,880 yen and 7,980 yen.

Everyone can have fun playing the pa-ranku (Okinawan drum), yotsudake (Okinawan castanet) and sanba (3-piece Okinawan castanet).
